Hand Crafted Gift Projects

Any visually obsessive creator balances high tech skills with hand crafts. Since childhood, drawing is like breathing to me. Teenage years were spent in the basement creating products for gift shops. Traditionally trained in printmaking, I have over twenty years of experience as an illustrator and graphic designer. But I always have something I am doing that is on the side, using hand skills, and is a contrast to the digital world.

Posting these projects to inspire readers works. They are the most visited pages in my stats. I guess at the reason, but it says is that I am not the only one who likes to do something low tech. The designer/illustrator in me most often resorts to collage—somewhat mirroring what I might also do in Photoshop.

Please enjoy visiting these pages in my ongoing quest for cool hand made calendar gifts:

• Hand-Craft Gifts: Forever Calendars shows several projects and discusses what it takes to create.

• Easy and Creative Gift Wrap Techniques is an annual craft quest for the most creative wrapping ideas with spending the least amount of money and making the most of what is on-hand.

• Most Visible describes how I got into making these hand-crafted projects and shows one that I have not posted before.

• Popularity Speaks reviews the most popular page on my oldest blog, Wisdom of Work, and adds some new thoughts.

Here are a few photos of constructing them, showing how I collect images by subject.
